You hear the opening chords of your favourite song and you’re suddenly flooded with emotion and memories, and there’s an electrifying tingle running through your body – it’s impossible to ignore… you are captivated! Arghh I love it!
If you’re nodding along with me, you’re in the (approx.) 50% of people who experience *pleasurable chills* when listening to your favourite music. (Lucky us!!).
French neuroscientists used a high-density EEG to map brain activity while people listened to their favourite music and their findings were published in a recent study.
They discovered that specific brain areas work together to process music, triggering the reward system and increasing dopamine release. Now that sounds like an orchestrated symphony of delight that I can get behind!
Just imagine adding this powerful layer of pleasure to your bedroom activities!! Yes, please!! I am totally against technology in the bedroom, but a bluetooth speaker is the exception to that rule. Why not create a playlist of your favourite songs to help you get in the mood for loving? Then you can ride that pleasure tidal wave while you get it on!
So, the next time you find yourself enraptured by an awesome tune while you stir dinner, remember that 50% of people might think you’re totally crazy - but the other 50% are right there with you!
